In the case of an anxiety disorder, the feeling of fear may be with you all the time. It is intense and sometimes debilitating. When you have an anxiety disorder, it has an impact on your life that makes it hard to go about your daily activities and responsibilities. In extreme cases, it may prevent you from crossing the street, or even leaving your home. If left untreated, the anxiety will keep getting worse.
Anxiety disorders are the most common form of emotional disorder and can affect anyone at any age.

If anxiety is impacting your everyday life, talking to a doctor or a mental healthcare professional is the first step to getting the right support and understanding the options for treatment.

How is anxiety treated?
Which anxiety treatments will work for you depends on what type of anxiety disorder you have, and how severe it is. Your GP will guide you though the various options you need.

Ayurveda and Anxiety:
From an Ayurvedic perspective, anxiety is an imbalance in the Vata dosha. Vata is one of the three doshas – or constitutions that support our homeostasis.
To balance Vata, you have to stabilize your energy—calm the nervous system, relax the mind, release obsessive thoughts, connect to your body, and ultimately surrender to the flow of the Universe.
Meditation is a wonderful, evidence-based tool for healing anxiety. It is an ancient technology for gaining mastery over the mind. Meditation involves diligent practice letting go of thoughts, regulating the breath, and surrendering to the open space of the current moment.
