Renal stones
Kidney stones are one of the most common disorders of the urinary tract. Kidney stones are solid crystals formed from the salts in urine. Kidney stones can block the flow of urine and cause infection, kidney damage or even kidney failure. Most kidney stones can be treated without surgery. Small stones in the kidney do not usually cause problems, they pass by themselves or need some treatment. While passing through the urinary track they cause gripping pain. Also lead to infection and blood in urine. If a stone does not pass and blocks urine flow or causes bleeding or an infection, then it may need to be removed with the help of surgery.
In Ayurveda renal stones are described as “Ashmari”. This condition is caused due to an imbalance or aggravation of three doshas known as Vata, Pitta, Kapha. These dosha are imbalanced due to unhealthy diet and lifestyle.
Treatment of renal stones includes a range of therapies that include herbal medicine, diet, and lifestyle changes. Also, in Ayurveda several diuretic herbs are indicated that help break the stones, so they are easily expelled in the urine. After surgery, or if you have repeated renal stones, ayurvedic herbs and remedies can avoid the chances of recurrence.
