Gastrointestinal disorders (IBS, Constipation,Ulcerative colitis, Chrons disease)

Functional disorders are those in which the gastrointestinal (GI) tract looks normal but does not work properly. They are the most common problems affecting the GI tract (including the colon and rectum). Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), constipation and inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease (CD) and colitis are common examples. Symptoms of GI disorders often include cramping, abdominal pain, inflammation of the lining of the large and/or small intestine, chronic diarrhea, rectal bleeding, and weight loss.

Many factors may upset the GI tract and its motility including unhealthy diet and lifestyle, stress, resisting the urge to have bowel movements due to pain from haemorrhoids, Overusing laxatives that over time weaken the bowel muscles.

Many of these can be prevented or minimized by maintaining a healthy lifestyle, practicing good bowel habits, and submitting to cancer screening.

Food is our only source of energy and without it human cannot survive. Therefore, it is especially important to have a healthy digestive system in place.
